What is Swiss dot?

Swiss dot is a lightweight fabric with small dots woven or flocked across it, giving a delicate, textured finish. It has been a favourite for children’s clothes for generations because it looks pretty and special without being fussy. Combined with smocking, a traditional technique where fabric is gathered into small, even folds and stitched into a pattern, it creates a classic, heirloom-style outfit.

Care

Our delicate smocked pieces are hand wash only. Please follow the care label, as machine washing (even on a hand wash cycle) can damage the smocking.

How our sizing works

We size our items like Next and Tu, where the tag size is “up to” the age it says inside. So, for example, if you buy a 3Y item, it’ll fit like a 2–3 years.

If the item isn’t stretchy, please bear in mind there’s no give in it. If your child is at the end of, or coming out of, their usual size, or is on the chunkier side like my own daughter, I would advise taking the size up.
