Why birthday pyjamas?

Birthday pyjamas are a simple way to make the day feel special from the moment your child wakes up. They’re perfect for opening presents, birthday breakfasts and those first photos of the day, and because they’re smocked, they have the classic look that turns them into a keepsake once they’re outgrown. Smocking is a traditional technique where fabric is gathered into small, even folds and stitched into a pattern, giving a gentle stretch and an heirloom finish.

How our sizing works

We size our items like Next and Tu, where the tag size is “up to” the age it says inside. So, for example, if you buy a 3Y item, it’ll fit like a 2–3 years.

If the item isn’t stretchy, please bear in mind there’s no give in it. If your child is at the end of, or coming out of, their usual size, or is on the chunkier side like my own daughter, I would advise taking the size up.

This sizing has been tested on different children of different shapes and sizes, and is accurate.
